Biography - The Windsor Studios

John R. Andres began his photographic career as a Detroit motorsports photojournalist over forty years ago, providing images to the Midwest automotive press. Since that time, he has continued to cover races and photograph celebrities, traveling back and forth across the country to attend INDYCAR Series and NASCAR events.
John also brings to each session his ability to create a calming, fun and relaxed atmosphere drawn from his thirty years of experience in the public sector and in private practice, as a California licensed Marriage Family and Child Therapist.
His photojournalistic style, developed and refined over four decades, has been incorporated into portrait work, which, when appropriate to the intended usage of the images and to the wishes of his clients, emphasizes dynamic and creative photographs that attempt to depict motion and movement, rather than classical portraiture that doesn’t always capture the true personality of an individual or an event. The importance of preserving each special moment in time cannot be emphasized enough and the portraits that result from each session are destined to become keepsakes that will be remembered and valued by future generations to come.
John is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, General Member of the American Society of Media Photographers, the National Press Photographers Association, the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association and the Santa Rosa Photographic Society.
